100 YEARS OF THE HISTORY, CULTURE AND DESIGN OF ESPRESSO MACHINES
THE BOOK
Scientific Committee - Salvatore Capodici
Salvatore Capodici was born on 22nd December 1940 in Favara, Sicily, Italy.
He has been studying the culture of coffee for years, and is the author of various publications such as Conoscere il Caffè (1983), Guida al caffè (1993), Viaggio nel mondo del caffè (2001), in addition to several papers and insight analyses published in specialized magazines.
His publishing work includes other fields as well: art, and biographical and historical essays. Since the 1970s, his passion for coffee and interest in the equipment used to prepare it has driven him to collect topic-related items such as coffeepots/coffee makers, and coffee grinders, as well as studying how they work.
He owns a collection of books built up over many years of meticulous investigations, and an archive with documents related to the history of coffee.
“What MUMAC means to me is that an 18 year old’s dream which began in a small open air market has come true and still lives on today.”
